Bahrain Unveils New Mascot for 3rd Asian Youth Games

Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on events that happened over the past 24 hours.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Bahrain has unveiled its new mascot "Shahab" for the upcoming 3rd Asian Youth Games (AYG). The event is set to host over 6,000 athletes from 45 National Olympic Committees (NOC).

In other events, HM King received the Commander of the US Central Command, highlighting continued cooperation between Bahrain and the United States. Meanwhile, HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim chaired the fifth Supreme Council for Women meeting in its eighth term.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad inaugurated the Al Roudha Camp Roundabout memorial, marking another significant occasion. Additionally, the Interior Minister met with the Transportation Minister, discussing key issues.

The Foreign Minister had a busy schedule, receiving both the Executive Director of the International Institute for Strategic Studies-Middle East and the credentials of the Israeli Ambassador-designate. The Interior Minister also chaired a Traffic Council meeting.

The Industry Minister held meetings with both the Egyptian Ambassador and the Indian Ladies Association, while the Youth Minister explored cooperation avenues with his Jordanian counterpart.

The Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah Affairs announced that it would open registration next Wednesday, and the Secretary General of the International Dispute Resolution Council participated in the MENA Meet Singapore Forum during Singapore Convention Week.

Furthermore, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority received a delegation from the US Congress, as did the Deputy Chief of Public Security, emphasizing international relations. MP Ahmed Qarata chaired the AIPU financial committee meeting, rounding out a busy day of engagements in Bahrain.
