Bahrain-UAE Ties Strengthen Comprehensive Strategic Integration on UAE’s 53rd Union Day.

Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain celebrates with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the 53rd Union Day, observed annually on December 2. This national occasion commemorates the establishment of the UAE as a sovereign federation with Abu Dhabi as its capital. Bahrain-UAE relations are characterised by historic ties built on solid foundations established by their forefathers and strengthened by the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. These relations have flourished through strategic cooperation and a shared commitment to fostering sustainable growth and prosperity for both nations. According to Bahrain News Agency, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, have further advanced bilateral ties by promoting integration across key sectors. Their efforts have sig nificantly contributed to the shared aspirations of both countries, benefiting their citizens and enhancing regional stability. The Bahrain-UAE Joint Higher Committee continues to play a vital role in deepening cooperation. The committee has achieved remarkable outcomes over the past two decades in areas including politics, economics, security, technology, and trade. Last week, Bahrain hosted the 12th meeting of the Joint Ministerial Committee, chaired by the foreign ministers of both nations, which resulted in agreements and memoranda of understanding aimed at elevating cooperation to new levels. Key achievements include the recent signing of agreements between the National Space Science Agency (NSSA) and the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC). These agreements, formalised during the Bahrain International Airshow, focus on leveraging space science to support environmental sustainability and design a Bahraini lunar payload for research purposes. They build on a 2019 memorandum of understanding and fur ther strengthen collaboration in advanced technologies. Economic and investment cooperation has also progressed, with both nations implementing a memorandum of understanding between their respective industry ministries. This initiative promotes industrial integration, supports supply chain resilience, and addresses food security challenges. Additionally, the signing of agreements on investment protection and double taxation avoidance earlier this year has bolstered economic ties and aligned with Bahrain's Vision 2030. Over the years, Bahrain and the UAE have established themselves as strategic partners across multiple sectors. Their commitment to shared goals has been reflected in agreements on renewable energy, the fourth industrial revolution, vocational training, and higher education, among others. The exemplary relationship between Bahrain and the UAE is a model of strategic integration and high-level diplomacy. Bahrain values the UAE's role in promoting peace, tolerance, and coexistence, aligning with Bahrain's principles of dialogue and diplomacy as essential pillars for regional and global progress. Both nations remain committed to furthering their partnership to achieve greater prosperity and stability for their people and the region.
