Manama: The Joint Ministerial Committee between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates convened today in Manama. The meeting was co-chaired by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, and His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE. The session underscored the ongoing commitment of both nations to deepen bilateral ties and explore avenues for cooperation. According to Bahrain News Agency, the UAE delegation included Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy; Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State; Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs; Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State; Saeed Mubarak Al Hajri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs; Fahad Mohammed Salem bin Kardous Al Amri, UAE Ambassador to Bahrain; and other senior officials. The Bahraini side was represented by Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportatio n and Telecommunications; Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism; Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce; Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs; and other senior officials. Dr. Al Zayani, in his opening remarks, welcomed His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the accompanying delegation, highlighting the strong cooperation and continuous development of Bahrain-UAE relations. He noted the significant contributions of both countries in promoting global peace, security, and stability. The Minister also praised the exceptional level of political cooperation and coordination, which contributes to fostering Arab solidarity in addressing current challenges and regional and international issues. His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed appreciation for Bahrain's warm welcome and reaffirmed the UAE's strategic partnership with Bahrain. He emphasized that the periodic meetings of the Joint Ministerial Committee demonstrate the commitment of both countries to addressing opportunities, overcoming challenges, and finding solutions to achieve tangible progress that serves the mutual interests of their peoples. The meeting discussed various aspects of the strong and historic ties between Bahrain and the UAE, exploring ways to further advance cooperation. Both sides examined avenues for closer collaboration in political matters, including joint consultations and coordination on international issues. Discussions also covered opportunities to strengthen cooperation in economic, trade, industrial, health, and environmental sectors. Several memoranda of understanding were signed during the meeting, reflecting a shared commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation. These included agreements on civil aviation affairs, tourism cooperation, government training and development, financial and economic cooperation, and competitiveness enhancement.
