Manama: Bahrain achieved significant success at the West Asia Table Tennis Championship by winning gold and bronze medals. The boys' under 13 team clinched the gold in the team event after a narrow victory over Iraq, winning 3-2 in the final.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the girls' under 19 team added to Bahrain's medal tally by securing a bronze. This marked the second medal win for Bahrain's girls' teams during the championship.
In their journey to the top, the boys' under 13 team dominated the preliminary group stage with victories over Saudi Arabia (3-1) and the UAE (3-0). They continued their winning streak by defeating Qatar 3-1 in the semi-final.
Earlier in the championship, Bahrain had also won gold in the senior, boys' under 11, and girls' under 13 events, along with a silver medal in the boys' under 15 category.
