Manama: Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Kingdom of Bahrain is set to host the Middle East Oil, Gas and Geosciences Show (MEOS GEO) from September 16 to 18. The event will be held under the theme "Energy for a Prosperous Future: Leading a Sustainable Tomorrow".
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, stated that Bahrain is committed to supporting and diversifying its energy sector under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. This commitment is aimed at advancing sustainable development goals and reinforcing Bahrain's position as a regional hub for clean and renewable energy.
Dr. Daina highlighted that MEOS GEO, a leading gathering in the region for oil, gas, and geosciences, serves as an important platform for regional and international cooperation in energy and Earth sciences. The event's continued success underscores its global prestige as a forum for dialogue and the exchange of knowledge among specialists, engineers, and technicians from national, regional, and global operators.
He also noted that Bahrain's hosting of the event reflects its dedication to fostering innovation, empowering talent, and contributing to the transition toward sustainable energy and a low-carbon economy.
Mohamed Ibrahim, General Manager of Informa Markets, emphasized the efforts of the organising committees, which include international firms, in developing programmes and activities that highlight the importance of the conference. MEOS GEO offers an opportunity to explore the latest developments and modern technologies that enhance knowledge and facilitate experience-sharing among industry leaders. He praised the Ministry of Oil and Environment for their support in ensuring the success of the event.
The conference will tackle key challenges in the energy sector amid global shifts toward sustainability and clean energy. It will explore technological solutions such as artificial intelligence, digital transformation, green hydrogen, petroleum geosciences, reservoir engineering, and advanced resource recovery techniques.
MEOS GEO is organised by Informa Markets in coordination with the Ministry of Oil and Environment, in collaboration with the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE), and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG). It is also supported by several Bahraini, Gulf-based, and international companies.
The event will feature a comprehensive programme, including keynote sessions, technical papers, and an exhibition spanning more than 18,000 square metres. It will showcase hundreds of global firms with the latest innovations in exploration and production, live laboratories, an interactive electronic poster zone for research presentations, a start-up zone, digitalisation areas, a display for oil and gas industry transport trucks and solutions, and a programme for young professionals and students to inspire the next generation of oil and gas specialists.
