The Kingdom of Bahrain will host the 54th session of the Arab Information Ministers’ Council on May 29.
The session will be organised in cooperation between the Media and Communication Sector of the Arab League and the Ministry of Information of Bahrain.
The 101st session of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media and the 19th session of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Information Ministers will be held respectively on May 27 and 28.
Information ministers of Arab countries and their representatives, a delegation from the Arab League led by Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector at the Arab League, and heads of media organisations and unions with observer status, will attend the session.
The Assistant Secretary-General said that the Permanent Committee for Arab Media will review the draft agenda, and include the recommendations of member states and partners, to be submitted to the Council through the Executive Office.

bi added that this session will review the implementation of decisions from the 53rd session of the Council in Rabat and recommendations from the 18th session of the Executive Bureau in Tripoli.
The ambassador said that the draft agenda includes continuing media support for Palestine and implementing the Arab media action abroad plan.
This includes adopting the basic system of the observatory and the integrated platform, the Arab Institute for Peace Journalism, and recommendations of the Arab Electronic Media Committee.
The Permanent Committee will discuss the implementation of the interim plan for the joint Arab media strategy to combat terrorism.
This follows the adoption of the strategy by the 33rd Arab Summit and the recommendations from the forum on influencer marketing and content development.
The committee will also review ways to spread environmental media awareness, strengthen the role of Arab women in media, and adopt the Arab Media Code of Honour, by the General Secretariat’s initiative and me
mber states’ proposals to incorporate the electoral dimension when covering electoral events in the media.
