Bahrain to Host 26th Arab Men’s Basketball Championship

Manama: Bahrain is set to host the 26th Arab Men's Basketball Championship at Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town from July 25 to August 2. All participating teams have arrived in the nation for the tournament, which marks a significant first for Bahrain as it hosts this regional event.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the championship will feature seven national teams: Bahrain, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE. Bahrain was awarded the hosting rights just ten days prior, following the withdrawal of the original host nation. This decision underscores the Arab Basketball Confederation's trust in Bahrain's organizational capabilities.

A technical meeting took place on Thursday to discuss competition regulations, match schedules, and logistical arrangements. The tournament will officially commence on Friday with three matches, including Bahrain's opening game against Qatar.

The Bahrain Basketball Association has confirmed that all preparations are complete, highlighting the Kingdom's readiness to deliver a successful event and its ability to host major regional sports competitions.
