Manama:Bahrain Taxi has unveiled a new luxury transport service named Elite Black, featuring electric vehicle bookings through its app. This initiative has received authorization from the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the service offers citizens, residents, and visitors the convenience of booking premium electric vehicles and completing payments electronically. This addition aims to provide a sustainable luxury transport option within the Kingdom's passenger transport sector.
Fatima Abdullah Al Dhaen, Undersecretary for Land Transport and Post at the Ministry, emphasized that this initiative supports the ministry's objectives to modernize land transport, promote clean energy, and enhance the use of innovative and sustainable mobility solutions. She noted that the service would improve the passenger experience while aligning with Bahrain's sustainable development goals, Economic Vision 2030, and the target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.
Waleed Fakhroo, Founder of Bahrain Taxi, expressed gratitude for the ministry's endorsement of initiatives that advance the transport sector. He described the launch as a pivotal step towards more sustainable luxury mobility, noting that Bahrain Taxi is the first application in the Kingdom to offer luxury electric vehicle transport. He also highlighted the contributions of national partners Kanoo Motors (Deepal) and Fakhro Motors (BYD).
The Elite Black service operates under the regulatory framework and licensing requirements set by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications. Its introduction is part of Bahrain Taxi's ongoing efforts to expand its offerings and provide more convenient, comfortable, and sustainable transport options.
