Bahrain Space Agency Engages in International Symposium on Space Cybersecurity

Manama: Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, Chief Executive of the Bahrain Space Agency (BSA), participated in an international symposium focused on cybersecurity within the satellite industry. The event was organised by the US-based company wolfSSL, which is known for providing space security solutions. The symposium aimed at exploring technologies designed to safeguard space infrastructure from evolving cyber threats.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Aseeri emphasized the significance of such platforms in confronting key challenges. These challenges include the protection of satellite communications, the adoption of quantum-resistant encryption to counter future risks, and the necessity for robust systems to secure satellite launches and operations. He reiterated Bahrain's commitment to developing secure space systems, noting that cybersecurity has become a strategic requirement for space assets.

Dr. Al Aseeri highlighted that the BSA is already implementing advanced security technologies in its satellite projects, with the Al Munther satellite serving as an example of Bahraini innovation in this domain. He stated that BSA's involvement in the symposium reflects Bahrain's dedication to enhancing the resilience of its space infrastructure, leveraging global expertise, and forming partnerships with technology leaders. This initiative reinforces Bahrain's role as an emerging player in both space and cybersecurity at the regional level.
