Manama: Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, CEO of the Bahrain Space Agency (BSA), commended the role of Bahraini engineers in supporting the Kingdom's development across various sectors. He noted that Bahraini engineers now make up around 70% of the agency's workforce, forming the foundation of a sustainable national space sector.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Bahraini space engineers have earned more than 20 local and international awards and published over 100 scientific papers, gaining recognition from global research institutions. Dr. Al Aseeri highlighted their key contribution to designing and building the Al Munther satellite, which was successfully launched into orbit in March 2025.
He added that several new projects are underway to further advance Bahrain's leadership in space technology. He emphasised the agency's commitment to developing national talent through education, training, and knowledge exchange programmes. This commitment is part of efforts to promote space science awareness and research to support Bahrain's progress and prosperity.
