Tokyo: Bahrain has taken a significant step in enhancing its government sector's human resources management capabilities by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Japan International Cooperation Centre (JICE). The agreement was formalized during the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to Japan.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the MoU was signed by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, representing the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Yamana Kenji, Senior Vice President of JICE. The signing ceremony was attended by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, underscoring the importance of the partnership.
Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa, President of the Civil Service Bureau (CSB), stated that the agreement is a strategic move aimed at developing national human resources and bolstering government institutions by leveraging international expertise. He emphasized that this initiative aligns with Bahrain's commitment to administrative modernisation programmes and the objectives outlined in Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030.
The MoU is designed to enhance the skills of government employees in areas such as planning, human resources management, digital transformation, organizational performance, and leadership development. The implementation plan includes training programmes, study visits to Japan, and specialised workshops conducted by Japanese experts, allowing Bahraini professionals to learn from international best practices and integrate them into their institutions.
Shaikh Daij bin Salman also pointed out Bahrain's accomplishments in public administration and human resources development, which position the Kingdom as an active collaborator with Japan in this field.
