Bahrain sends urgent health aid to Sudan

In line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the interest of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, a Gulf Air plane carrying urgent health aid headed to Port Sudan International Airport today.

This initiative, which is part of the Kingdom’s contribution to the humanitarian and medical efforts in Sudan, reflects Bahrain’s commitment to standing by the Sudanese people in the face of the difficulties caused by internal crisis. It also confirms the strong ties that bind the two countries and peoples.

Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Ali Bahzad, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Consular and Administrative Affairs, said that this urgent aid comes as an extension of the Kingdom’s efforts in assisting affected countries and peoples in various circumstances.

He added that this shipment carries medical and first aid materials, supplies and necessary medical devices that will be distributed to hospitals in Sudan, expressing hope that it will contribute to treating injuries and emergency surgeries as a result of the current crisis.

The airplane will evacuate Bahraini citizens and residents upon its return from Port Sudan International Airport to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
