Bahrain Red Crescent Engages in Regional Immunisation Workshop in Jordan

Amman: The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) took part in a regional workshop held in Jordan focusing on the role of National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in aiding immunisation programmes spearheaded by ministries of health.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the workshop was organised by the Jordan Red Crescent Society in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). It gathered representatives from 12 national societies across the Middle East and North Africa. The aim was to enhance cooperation, share expertise, and craft a regional roadmap to support national immunisation initiatives.

Dr. Kawthar Al Eid, a Board Member of BRCS, attended the workshop, reiterating the society's dedication to regional efforts that aim to boost public health and community resilience. This is to be achieved through improved cooperation, knowledge sharing, and strengthening volunteer capabilities.

Dr. Mohammad Mutlaq Al Hadid, President of the Jordan Red Crescent Society, emphasized the importance of national societies in backing immunisation efforts led by health ministries. He advocated for ongoing collaboration and capacity building as essential measures to enhance vaccine coverage and reach communities in need.
