Bahrain Reaffirms Commitment to Arab Energy Cooperation and Sustainability Goals.

Cairo: Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, reaffirmed Bahrain's commitment to strengthening Arab energy cooperation through innovative solutions aligned with advanced technologies. This approach supports sustainable development goals and environmental preservation under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister noted that Bahrain's recent appointment as Deputy Chair of the Executive Office of the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity reflects the Kingdom's expertise in developing electricity infrastructure, including energy production projects, capacity enhancement, and efficiency improvements to drive economic growth and deliver advanced services. Humaidan emphasized the energy sector's role as a cornerstone of sustainable development, highlighting Bahrain's commitment to collective Arab efforts t o enhance energy efficiency and production capacity in line with regional priorities. He called for adopting innovative programs to meet future energy needs while focusing on renewable resources such as solar and wind power. He underlined the importance of ensuring the sustainability of energy resources to meet growing demand and transition to a green economy, enhancing Arab competitiveness in global markets. Strengthening Arab energy cooperation, he added, can address environmental and economic challenges, reduce carbon emissions, and foster sustainable development through measures such as power plant optimization, energy trading, and electrical reserve sharing. The minister reiterated Bahrain's efforts to promote efficient and sustainable energy systems, supported by electricity interconnection projects among Arab countries to enhance grid reliability and regional stability. He emphasized Bahrain's dedication to advancing energy and sustainability programs regionally and internationally, aligning with gl obal trends to enhance Arab nations' role in international energy markets and achieve shared goals.
