Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain continued its international distinction as Bahrain International Airport (BIA)'s Passport Services ranked third globally in the 2025 Skytrax World Airport Awards under the category of Best Airport Immigration Services for the second consecutive year.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this achievement is the result of applying high standards. These standards include the efficiency and speed of procedures, ease of movement within the airport, and the professionalism of passport officers in welcoming visitors. It also demonstrates the high level of traveller satisfaction with the services provided.
Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) at the Ministry of Interior, highlighted that this international recognition comes as part of the attention and follow-up from General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, who is committed to providing the best and highest quality services at the Kingdom's entry and exit points. He commended the efforts made by the passport staff at BIA in achieving this distinction.
Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman noted that this recognition is a global testament to the quality of services provided by the NPRA and its continued commitment to enhancing the travel experience through BIA. He added that this contributes to advancing the Kingdom's position as a leading regional hub in the air transport sector.
Bahrain ranked after Hong Kong International Airport and Singapore Changi Airport, reflecting the high level of competitiveness achieved by the Kingdom among the world's leading airports.
Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman also emphasised that efforts will continue to provide advanced services that facilitate travel procedures and enhance operational efficiency at border crossings. He also noted the constructive cooperation with Bahrain Airport Company, which played a key role in the development and integration of services provided to travellers.
The Skytrax World Airport Awards are presented by a leading British consultancy established in 1989 and are among the most recognised awards in the aviation sector. The results are based on direct traveller evaluations and on-site assessments conducted by the company.
