Manama: The Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Maestro Dr. Mubarak Najem, delivered an eagerly awaited performance titled "Beauty of Classical Music" at the Bahrain National Theatre. The concert was held in celebration of Europe Day and aimed to honour the values of unity and diversity.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event was organized in collaboration with the Delegation of the European Union to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The concert showcased the orchestra's stature as a leading musical ensemble in the region, featuring a specially curated program of renowned classical pieces.
The performance highlighted two guest artists from the European Union. Soprano Marika Franchino enthralled the audience with arias by Puccini, while violinist Olga Arribas Quintana performed a solo from Mendelssohn's well-known violin concerto.
The concert also included selections from composers like Beethoven, Mozart, Bizet, Sibelius, Bart³k, and de Falla, along with a tribute to French-Polish composer Fr©d©ric Chopin.
The Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra, established in 2022 by Maestro Dr. Mubarak Najem, director of the Police Band and founder of the Bahrain Music Institute, consists of over 100 musicians and choir members. The orchestra represents a significant development in the Kingdom's musical landscape.
