Bahrain participates in TFTC executive, consultative meetings

The delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain, headed by the Chief of Strategic Affairs, Ambassador Nancy Abdullah Jamal, participated in a series of executive and consultative meetings of the Terrorist Financing Targeting Centre (TFTC), which is based in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The delegation consisted of representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Interior, led by the Director of the Financial Intelligence Department at the Ministry of Interior and member of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Bahrain, Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa.

The Ambassador commended the Centre’s achievements since its establishment in organising and intensifying consultative networks in everything related to investigation, cutting off sources of financing of terrorism, combating money laundering, and raising the national competencies of member states, which in turn enhanced the collective readiness to detect groups and individuals trying to breach the systems.

Addressing the meeting, the ambassador highlighted the national perspective based on the consolidation of a comprehensive multi-dimensional base for national structuring and regional and international partnerships that support the sustainability of drying up sources of terror funding with the increasing diversity of mechanisms used by terrorist groups to support their projects that subjugate safe societies and homelands.

He affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to the mission, vision and goals of the Terrorist Financing Targeting Centre, praising the joint efforts of all member states to move forward in achieving them, expressing her aspiration for more achievements, especially with the approach of the centre’s fifth anniversary.
