Bahrain participates in Senior Officials’ Meeting of CASCF, Strategic Political Dialogue

The Kingdom of Bahrain took part in the 17th Senior Officials’ Meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) and the 6th Senior Official Level Strategic Political Dialogue, which was held virtually today with the participation of the Chief of Arab Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Mohammed Al Tarifi.

During the meeting, the Chief of Arab Affairs delivered a speech in which he stressed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to support the Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum, noting that the Kingdom, in cooperation with the People’s Republic of China and in coordination with Arab countries, will continue its endeavours to develop and enhance the forum’s role in developing Arab-Chinese relations.

He also praised the Chinese “Belt and Road” initiative, due to its positive impact on Arab-Chinese relations in general, and pointed out that Bahrain and China signed a memorandum of understanding within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, noting that the Bahraini-Chinese relations witnessed a remarkable development in all political, economic, cultural and other fields.

The Arab and Chinese sides also commended the success achieved in the ninth session of the ministerial meeting of the forum, and the positive outcomes it led to, which would contribute to deepening and expanding the fields of cooperation, expressing their aspiration for the Arab-Chinese summit to be held next year in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The meeting issued recommendations related to areas of cooperation and joint coordination in several areas. It also discussed the latest developments in the Arab and Chinese political arena and issues of common interest.
