Bahrain Participates in 23rd Extraordinary Session of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers

Jeddah: Hatem Abdulhamid Hatem, Chief of International Organizations Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participated in the 23rd Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held at the OIC General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Bahrain's participation reflects its continued commitment to supporting and strengthening joint Islamic action and its steadfast adherence to the principles and objectives of the OIC. It also underscores the Kingdom's commitment to fostering solidarity and cooperation among member states in support of their shared interests and regional and international peace, security, and stability.

The meeting witnessed the election of Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed as the OIC's new Secretary-General, succeeding Hissein Brahim Taha following the conclusion of his term. The session also discussed and adopted resolutions under the standing agenda item on Palestine and Al Quds Al Sharif.
