Manama: A Bahraini parliamentary delegation participated in the meeting between the Gulf-European Parliamentary Committee and the Delegation for relations with the Arab Peninsula of the European Parliament, held in the United Arab Emirates.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the delegation was led by MP Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee in the Council of Representatives, and included Sabeeka Khalifa Al Fadhala, a Shura Council member. The delegation emphasized the importance of strengthening Gulf-European parliamentary cooperation to advance shared political, economic, and security interests. It highlighted the need for continuous dialogue, joint policies, and respect for national sovereignty to foster stability and sustainable development.
Discussions during the meeting covered human rights, the 2022 - 2027 joint cooperation programme, water and food security, desalination technologies, and European Parliament resolutions on the GCC. The agenda also included AI regulations, data protection, and facilitating Gulf nationals' entry into EU countries.
