Manama: The delegation of the Bahrain Parliamentary Division, led by Shura Council member Sadiq Eid Al Rahma, chaired the 23rd meeting of the GCC Parliamentary Coordination and Foreign Relations Committee, which was conducted virtually.
According to Bahrain News Agency, MP Khalid Saleh Buanaq and Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives and Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, were in attendance. During the meeting, Al Rahma emphasized the significance of deepening Gulf parliamentary cooperation and enhancing engagement with regional and international legislative bodies. This initiative aligns with the aspirations of GCC states and serves the interests of their people. The agenda focused on formulating unified positions and practical recommendations to advance joint Gulf parliamentary efforts.
Al Rahma also shared greetings from Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, and Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, expressing hope for the meeting's success.
The committee discussed ways to strengthen Gulf parliamentary cooperation through exchanging visits and legislative expertise among GCC councils. It also covered organizing joint seminars and conferences, as well as coordinating positions on various legislative, oversight, economic, political, environmental, and technological issues to issue common proposals and guiding statements.
