Riyadh: Ambassador Nawar Abdullah Al Mutawa, Acting Chief of GCC Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, chaired a meeting of Foreign Ministry officials from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and the People's Republic of China, held today at the GCC General Secretariat headquarters.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Bahrain, the meeting discussed key issues of mutual interest, including the significance of GCC-China relations and ways to strengthen and develop them. Other topics included regional political and security developments, maritime security and the safety of sea lanes, energy security, and combating terrorism and extremism.
The meeting reflects the shared commitment to continued dialogue and coordination and to strengthening the partnership between the GCC and the People's Republic of China, in support of security, stability, development, and mutual interests.
