Bahrain International Garden Show Concludes Successfully, Showcasing Innovation and Excellence

Manama: The Bahrain International Garden Show (BIGS) concluded successfully after four days of exhibitions and activities that attracted thousands of visitors from Bahrain and abroad. The event was held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and Chairperson of the Advisory Council of the National Initiative for Agricultural Sector Development (NIAD).

According to Bahrain News Agency, the organising committee expressed its appreciation for HM the King's unwavering support, which has elevated the exhibition into a premier annual event driving growth in Bahrain's agricultural sector. The committee also extended its gratitude to HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim for her guidance and support, which have been instrumental in the event's success and development.

The committee underscored its commitment to incorporating feedback and suggestions to enhance the diversity of exhibits and accompanying activities in future editions. As a leading event in agriculture and landscape design, the show brings together experts, specialists, and leading companies in garden design, agricultural products, and sustainable solutions. It serves as a platform to showcase the latest agricultural technologies, promote environmental awareness, and introduce innovative ideas in urban agriculture and sustainability.

This year's edition witnessed an exceptional turnout, with 128 exhibitors from various sectors and over 20,000 visitors, including industry professionals, investors, students, and gardening enthusiasts. In partnership with Export Bahrain, the event also facilitated the participation of six Bahraini startups, providing them with a platform to showcase their work and expand their market reach.

In recognition of excellence and innovation, the best pavilions at BIGS were awarded across several categories. In the Government Sector, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture secured first place, followed by the Supreme Council for Environment in second place, and the Ministry of Education in third place. For the Private Sector, stc Bahrain won first place, while Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) and Bapco Energies earned second and third place, respectively.

Among Educational Institutions, the University of Bahrain was recognised with first place for its outstanding pavilion. Meanwhile, in the Non-Government Organisations category, the Coffee Cooperative in Jazan took first place. In the Landscape Companies category, Nass Landscapes W.L.L. was awarded first place. Similarly, in the Floral and Plant Retailers category, Lalabella for Flowers and Events claimed the top spot.

The Agricultural Materials and Equipment Companies category saw Fienile Agronegocios Ltda securing first place, while Talha Honey Oman was recognised as the best pavilion among Food Product Companies. Finally, in the General Retail or Agricultural Service Providers category, Bahrain Food Monitor was awarded first place for its contributions to the sector.

The event further strengthened Bahrain's position as a regional centre for discussions on advanced agricultural solutions, green technology, and sustainable practices that contribute to food security and long-term development.
