Manama: A delegation from Bahrain's Parliamentary Division is actively participating in the Economic and Sustainable Development Committee meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA). The event is taking place in the Kingdom of Bahrain from September 14 to 16, with approximately 70 members from 15 countries in attendance.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meetings serve as a platform to address critical issues affecting the continent's future, such as economic development, climate change, and social challenges. These gatherings aim to enhance Asian parliamentary partnerships, support coordination, and highlight Bahrain's democratic achievements and active legislative role.
The session is chaired by MP Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, who is the Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee in the Council of Representatives and APA Vice President. The agenda includes reviewing seven draft resolutions focused on establishing an Asian energy market, environmental concerns, sustaining economic growth, supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, water and sanitation in Asian countries, the climate finance initiative, and electing members of the APA Bureau.
Bahrain's delegation comprises MP Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, MP Bader Saleh Al Tamimi, MP Abdulhakeem Mohammed Al Shino, Dr. Jameela Mohammed Redha Al Salman, Chairwoman of the Services Committee in the Shura Council, Dr. Abdulaziz Hassan Abel, Shura Council member, and Dr. Hani Ali Al Saati, Shura Council member.
