Bahrain Engages in IPU Discussions on Peace and Security

Manama:MP Zainab Abdulameer Khalil took part in the Standing Committee on Peace and International Security meeting, representing Bahrain's Parliamentary Division at the 153rd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

According to Bahrain News Agency, the session included a panel discussion that explored the role of parliaments in maintaining peace amidst the challenges posed by military artificial intelligence. Another panel focused on how parliamentary diplomacy, mediation, and dialogue can contribute to lasting peace.

The committee also conducted an expert hearing on the upcoming resolution, which addresses enhancing maritime security, protecting critical infrastructure during conflicts, and the role of parliaments in ensuring international navigation and economic stability.
