Bahrain Engages in Discussions at 113th Session of International Labour Conference

Geneva: Yusuf bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour, led the Kingdom of Bahrain's delegation at the 113th Session of the International Labour Conference, held from June 1 to 14.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the conference agenda featured a report by Gilbert F. Houngbo, Director General of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), who emphasized embedding decent work principles at the core of future economic growth. Houngbo urged member states to adopt policies combining economic growth, job creation, and the protection of workers' rights.

The conference also addressed biological hazards in the workplace, reinforced labour values, and promoted a fair work environment benefiting all social partners. During the event, Minister Khalaf engaged in several bilateral meetings with high-ranking officials, heads of participating delegations, and representatives of regional and international organisations and institutions.
