London: The Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the United Kingdom hosted a reception to celebrate Bahrain’s National Day and the anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s accession to the throne, along with other national events. The gathering was marked by prominent attendees, including Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the UK House of Commons, and other distinguished former UK officials, as well as representatives from various sectors.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event saw participation from high-level individuals such as Theresa May, former Prime Minister of the UK; Ben Wallace, former Secretary of State for Defence; and Priti Patel, former Home Secretary and Shadow Foreign Secretary. The reception also included Afzal Khan, former Shadow Justice Minister and Chair of the Bahrain All-Party Parliamentary Group, and Sir William Patey, Co-Chair of the Labour Middle East Council. Additional attendees included senior officials from the Royal Household, members of both Houses of Parliament, UK government representatives, and various diplomats, academics, and Bahraini nationals.
During the reception, Sir Lindsay Hoyle expressed satisfaction with the historic relationship between Bahrain and the UK, highlighting Bahrain’s partnership in promoting regional and international security. He also extended congratulations to Bahrain on McLaren’s victory in the 2025 Formula One World Championship and Lando Norris’ win in the Drivers’ Championship, acknowledging the Kingdom’s contributions to sports.
Bahrain’s Ambassador to the UK, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on this occasion. The Ambassador underscored the strong bilateral ties and the ongoing development of security and international cooperation, including the UK’s accession to the Comprehensive Security and Prosperity Integration Agreement (C-SIPA).
The Ambassador expressed gratitude to officials and staff of the UK Foreign Office, the British Embassy in Manama, and the Bahrain Embassy in London for their efforts in enhancing the relations between the two nations. The reception included Bahraini cultural performances, traditional music by the Ministry of Interior’s band, an interactive Formula One driving experience, and a selection of traditional Bahraini cuisine, providing guests with an immersive experience of Bahrain’s heritage.
