Manama: Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), renowned as 'The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East', is set to launch the 2024/2025 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship this week. This eagerly anticipated event will bring together top drag racing teams and drivers from around the globe for a thrilling competition on the BIC's acclaimed quarter-mile drag strip. According to Bahrain News Agency, the championship's first round will take place from Tuesday to Friday, November 19-22, in Sakhir. The series, sanctioned by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), is organized in collaboration with the Bahrain Motor Federation and Bahrain Drag Racing Commission. Competing racers will vie for championship points in various categories, with the coveted 'Wally Trophy' awarded to the winners at the season's end. The championship kicks off with two evenings of Test and Tune sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by qualifying rounds on Thursday. The final races on Friday will determine the victors. This season features 14 racing categories for both cars and motorbikes, with the Pro Mod category among the highlights. The championship comprises five rounds, with subsequent events scheduled for December, January, and February, culminating in a grand finale.
