Cairo: Bahrain's under-16 basketball team, representing the HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Gold Generation Athletics League, secured a decisive 80-54 victory over Algeria in the 22nd Arab U16 Championship in Egypt. This win marks Bahrain's second triumph in the tournament, following their earlier success against Qatar.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the victory significantly boosts Bahrain's prospects of advancing to the finals of the competition. They are slated to face Kuwait next in the ongoing round-robin tournament, which comprises six teams. The top two teams from this stage will progress to the final matchup.
Bahrain entered the Arab U16 Championship on the back of their successful campaign in the Gulf Championship qualifier for the Asian Cup. Their participation and performance are bolstered by the support of the Bahrain Basketball Association.
