Riyadh:The Public Prosecution of Bahrain took part in a Gulf workshop held in Riyadh, joining forces with representatives from the Ministry of Interior and the Supreme Judicial Council. This event aimed at enhancing cooperation among security agencies, public prosecution offices, and courts across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Chief of the Enforcement of Criminal Judgments Prosecution presented a paper discussing the public prosecution's role in overcoming challenges related to extradition, tracing, and recovery of funds within GCC nations.
The paper addressed significant procedural challenges and national efforts in asset recovery. It proposed initiatives such as a unified Gulf arrest warrant, a rapid mechanism for freezing and seizing criminal proceeds, and a standardized procedural guide for public prosecution offices.
Bahrain's participation in the workshop underscores its commitment to bolstering judicial and security collaboration and supporting efforts against cross-border crime.
