Bahrain Delegation Explores Singapore’s Advanced Transport Systems.

Manama: A delegation from Bahrain, led by Shaikh Meshaal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, and Ahmed Sami Al Tajer, Assistant Undersecretary for Roads, visited Singapore to investigate advanced transport technologies. The focus was on traffic flow management, congestion reduction, road network planning, and integrated transportation systems. According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Meshaal bin Mohammed emphasized the significance of utilizing international expertise in road planning to enhance traffic management. He reiterated the ministry's dedication to collaborating with other nations to adopt best practices. The delegation examined Singapore's state-of-the-art traffic management systems and its strategic approach to integrating land use, road planning, and infrastructure development for sustainable growth. During the visit, the delegation toured the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Centre in Singapore. They observed innovative technologies aimed at optimizing traffic f low and reducing congestion, especially during peak hours and major events. Discussions also included the application of artificial intelligence to improve road safety and traffic management efficiency. The visit is part of the Ministry of Works' strategic initiatives to fortify Bahrain's transportation infrastructure. By incorporating global best practices, the ministry aims to foster innovative solutions to enhance traffic flow and support the nation's development goals.
