Bahrain Defence Force Enforces Ban on Military-Related Photography and Publication

Manama: The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force has declared a prohibition on the photography, publication, or redistribution of defensive operations, unit positions, or the movement of military vehicles and systems. This decision aims to safeguard the security and safety of the Kingdom of Bahrain and protect its vital national interests amid current exceptional circumstances and the Iranian aggression facing the country. This prohibition follows Article 17 (bis) of the Military Judiciary Law of 2002 and Article 135 of the Penal Code of 1976.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Bahrain Defence Force emphasized that the ban covers all images, video footage, recordings, or information related to its military installations, military operations, or defensive measures. It also extends to the promotion of unverified information or fabricated content, including that created with modern technologies, about events, attacks, and acts of aggression targeting the Kingdom. This applies across traditional media, digital platforms, and social media, whether directly or indirectly.

The prohibition aims to prevent activities that could compromise national security, facilitate the targeting of military installations or vital sites under the Bahrain Defence Force's authority, or adversely affect ongoing defensive operations. The potential consequences of such actions pose risks to the safety of the armed forces and the security of the Kingdom, its citizens, and residents.

The Bahrain Defence Force stressed that any violation of these provisions represents a breach of the Kingdom's laws and regulations, subjecting violators to legal accountability and prosecution. Citizens and residents are urged to fulfill their national responsibilities by adhering strictly to these instructions and obtaining information only from official and authoritative sources. Additionally, all individuals are advised to maintain a safe distance from military sites and convoys to support national efforts in protecting the Kingdom and ensuring the safety of all.
