Bahrain Condemns Iranian Missile Attacks in Letter to UN Secretary-General

New york: The Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York sent an immediate letter to Ant³nio Guterres, Secretary-General of the UN, following the attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain claimed by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the letter expressed Bahrain's strong condemnation of the missile attacks targeting sites, facilities, and residential areas within its territory, launched by Iran. Bahraini air defenses intercepted a number of missiles and drones. It described the attacks as a serious violation of the Kingdom's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security of its people, a direct and unjustified breach of international law and the UN Charter, and a grave threat to regional and international peace and security.

The letter also strongly denounced these actions as a dangerous and irresponsible escalation. It stressed that targeting Bahrain's territory and facilities is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated, warning that such attacks threaten regional stability and undermine the principles of good neighborliness.

Bahrain reaffirmed its commitment to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, while reserving its full right to respond proportionately and to take all necessary measures to restore security and stability and protect its territory, citizens, and residents, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and international law, and in coordination with its allies and partners.
