Bahrain Condemns Iranian Attacks Amid Rising Tensions

Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on local events that happened over the past 24 hours. The focus was largely on the regional tensions following Iranian attacks, which have prompted widespread reactions across the Kingdom.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the situation has intensified as the Bahraini Defense Force (BDF) General Command reported the destruction of 95 missiles and 164 drones since the onset of the Iranian aggression. The Ministry of Health confirmed that 32 Bahraini citizens, including children, were injured in a hostile drone attack in Sitra. The Interior Ministry further detailed that citizens were injured, with one person in serious condition, and several homes were damaged in the area.

Bahrain has reiterated the Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) condemnation of the Iranian aggression during a United Nations Security Council briefing focused on energy, minerals, and security. The Foreign Minister also participated in an extraordinary session of the League of Arab States Ministerial Council, highlighting Bahrain's commitment to addressing the issue on international platforms.

Bahraini leadership has been actively involved in addressing the crisis. HM King received calls from French and Iraqi leaders, emphasizing international diplomatic engagement. Meanwhile, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister met with religious leaders at the Ahmed Al-Fateh Islamic Center and with Christian leaders, aiming to foster unity and resilience among Bahrain's diverse communities.

The nation has shown solidarity in the face of these challenges, with Bahraini families and institutions expressing their support amid the attacks. The Shura Chairman condemned the Iranian aggression and affirmed the Kingdom's national resilience. Additionally, the Interior Ministry announced the continuation of a maritime ban in the Northern Area as a precautionary measure.

In response to the attacks, the Education Minister inspected the university site affected by the aggression, and the RMS Commander visited King Hamad University Hospital to check on those injured. These actions underscore the government's swift response to ensure the safety and recovery of its citizens.

The National Institution for Human Rights marked International Women's Day by commending Bahrain's efforts in empowerment, reflecting the nation's focus on resilience and progress despite the current adversities.
