Manama: The High Committee for the Care of Persons with Disabilities organized an event to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities under the theme 'United for a Better Tomorrow.' The event saw the participation of Sahar Rashid Al Mannai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, along with committee members and representatives from relevant organizations. According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Mannai emphasized the importance of the occasion as a platform for collaboration across sectors to empower persons with disabilities and protect their rights. She noted that Bahrain serves as a leading model in providing services to persons with disabilities as part of its comprehensive development process, supported by the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Al Mannai elaborated on the National Strategy for Persons with Disabilities, describing it as a cornerstone for pr omoting equality, justice, and equal opportunities. She stressed the significance of enhancing partnerships among the public, private, and civil sectors to achieve these objectives. Furthermore, she highlighted the Ministry of Social Development's efforts to ensure social security for persons with disabilities through various rehabilitative, social, and health services aimed at children and youth. Al Mannai expressed gratitude to the organizers, particularly Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee (BPC) and Deputy Chairman of the High Committee for the Care of Persons with Disabilities, as well as all committee members and partners who supported the event.
