Bahrain Chamber and Singapore Arbitration Centre Strengthen Ties During Singapore Convention Week

Manama: Professor Marike Paulsson, Secretary-General of the Council for International Dispute Resolution of the Kingdom of Bahrain and vice chair of the Board of Trustees at the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR), along with Ahmed Husain, CEO of the BCDR, engaged in a bilateral meeting with Gloria Lim, CEO of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), at SIAC's office in Maxwell Chambers during Singapore Convention Week 2025.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was a continuation of the cooperation established by a Memorandum of Understanding signed between SIAC and BCDR on 21 February 2024. This MoU set up an institutional framework for collaboration between the two organizations. The discussions during the meeting focused on reviewing the progress since the MoU's signing and explored further opportunities to enhance cooperation. Particular emphasis was placed on capacity building, knowledge exchange, and joint stakeholder engagement and collaboration, with a specific focus on the Middle East Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Pre-Moot. This reflects the importance both institutions place on collaborative initiatives.

The discussions highlighted the shared commitment to reinforcing the institutional ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Singapore, both recognized as leading centers for international arbitration. The focus was on developing practitioners' skills, enhancing procedural innovation, and ensuring reliable dispute resolution services at regional and international levels.
