Bahrain chairs meeting with UN Undersecretary-General

Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and Other International Organizations in Geneva, Dr. Yousef Abdulkarim Bucheery, chaired the meeting of the Permanent Ambassadors of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, with the Undersecretary-General of the United Nations for Humanitarian Affairs and Relief Coordinator in Emergencies, Martin Griffiths, in order to review the humanitarian needs for the year 2022 and discuss developments in the region.

Griffiths noted that the United Nations and its humanitarian partners are doing their best to help the most vulnerable, stressing the need to intensify international efforts to help save lives, alleviate suffering and promote stability in affected areas around the world.

For his part, Dr. Bucheery appreciated the role of Mr. Griffiths as the special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen during the last three years, stressing the keenness of the GCC to achieve the noble humanitarian goals of the United Nations.
