Brussels: Ambassador Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, chaired the 27th GCC-EU Political Committee Meeting, held in Belgium. The meeting focused on regional and international developments of mutual concern, particularly addressing the continued Iranian attacks targeting GCC countries and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to international maritime navigation by Iran.
According to Bahrain News Agency, participants also discussed ways to strengthen GCC-EU relations across various sectors within the framework of the strategic partnership between the two sides. This meeting was a part of the GCC-EU Joint Action Programme (2022-2027) and served as a preparation for the 30th GCC-EU Joint Ministerial Meeting scheduled for later this year.
Bahrain's delegation was led by Ambassador Nawar Abdullah Al Mutawa, Acting Chief of the GCC Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
