Manama: The Ministry of Health in Bahrain organized a ceremony to commemorate World Health Day 2025, emphasizing the theme 'Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures.' The event saw the attendance of Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, along with senior health officials, representatives from relevant institutions, and medical professionals.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Minister of Health, Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, highlighted the Kingdom's commitment to public health as a key element of sustainable development and societal well-being. She noted the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in prioritizing health initiatives.
The Minister emphasized the significance of maternal and child health in Bahrain's national strategy, which aims to provide integrated care from early life stages. Efforts led by the Supreme Council of Health focus on delivering preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services. The strategy also aims to enhance health system development and public health awareness, ensuring access to high-quality care for all citizens.
Highlighting Bahrain's comprehensive health approach, the Minister discussed initiatives such as premarital screenings, prenatal and postnatal care, regular child check-ups, adherence to vaccination schedules, and the promotion of breastfeeding and proper nutrition. She stressed that maternal and child health is a vital investment in the nation's future.
Bahrain's commitment to innovation in healthcare was underscored by the Minister, who noted the importance of digital solutions and modern technologies in improving service quality and sustainability. The theme for this year's World Health Day reflects Bahrain's belief in the importance of a healthy start for a prosperous future.
The event also included an awareness video that showcased key maternal and child health services, updates on the national immunization program, and vaccines for pregnant women and children. Awareness activities were conducted to promote early health interventions and healthy lifestyles within the community.
