Tashkent: Bahraini boxer Jayden Price won the gold medal in the 52KG category at the Asian U17 Boxing Championship held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from May 4 to 15.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this result marks Bahrain's first gold medal in the championship at this age category and placed Bahrain top among participating Arab teams. Price secured the title after winning four bouts against opponents from Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Combat Sports Council, commended the achievement and noted that it reflects ongoing efforts to support combat sports and develop youth categories in Bahrain.
Rashid Isa Feleyfel, President of the Bahrain Boxing Federation, stated that the result reflects the federation's focus on preparing young athletes and strengthening Bahrain's presence in regional and continental competitions.
