Bahrain Bourse Engages Global Investors at HSBC GCC Exchanges London Conference 2026

London: Bahrain Bourse (BHB), a licensed exchange regulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), participated in the HSBC GCC Exchanges London Conference 2026, held on June 8-11. The event saw the attendance of Yusuf Al Yusef, Chairman of Bahrain Bourse, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Bourse, along with representatives from Bahrain Bourse, HSBC Bahrain, Bapco Energies, and Aluminium Bahrain (Alba).

According to Bahrain News Agency, the conference gathered over 300 institutional investors, more than 100 Middle East corporates, and all seven stock exchanges from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), engaging in over 3,000 meetings. This marked the largest gathering in the conference's five-year history.

Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim participated in a panel titled "Listings, Liquidity and Governance: Outlook for GCC Capital Markets" during the conference. The session focused on the future of GCC capital markets, emphasizing the importance of strengthening listings, enhancing liquidity, and advancing governance to achieve sustainable growth and global competitiveness.

Yusef Al Yusef, Chairman of Bahrain Bourse, commented on the occasion, stating that their participation in the conference reflects Bahrain Bourse's commitment to establishing the Kingdom of Bahrain as a competitive and transparent investment destination. This participation aligns with Bahrain Bourse's Capital Market Development Plan 2026-2028, which aims to diversify market offerings, deepen liquidity, and streamline market operations.

Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim highlighted the significance of the HSBC GCC Exchanges Conference as a platform to engage with international investors and showcase Bahrain's capital market strengths. He emphasized that Bahrain offers a compelling investment proposition with a robust regulatory framework and a diversified economy.

Joseph Ghorayeb, Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bahrain, noted that Bahrain's financial ecosystem and Bahrain Bourse's 'Elevate' strategy provide a roadmap for enhancing market liquidity and broadening investment opportunities. The strategy focuses on expanding the IPO pipeline, introducing new investment products, and digital market infrastructure.

On the sidelines of the conference, Bahrain's delegation conducted targeted one-on-one meetings and discussions with global fund and asset managers and leaders in the capital markets industry. These engagements showcased Bahrain Bourse's strategic initiatives and highlighted investment opportunities in the Kingdom, reinforcing Bahrain's position as a competitive financial hub in the region.

Through its participation, Bahrain Bourse aims to strengthen connections between Bahrain's capital markets and the global investment community, promoting the Kingdom's investment proposition and facilitating access to long-term growth opportunities in the region.
