Bahrain Bourse and BIBF Celebrate Graduates of Board Mentorship Programme

Manama: Bahrain Bourse (BHB), licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain, in collaboration with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), honoured 21 graduates of the Bahrain Bourse Board Mentorship Programme at a ceremony held last Thursday. The event was attended by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Bourse, and Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh, CEO of the BIBF, alongside CEOs of listed companies, programme participants, and Board Members as well as the Executive Management of Bahrain Bourse and the BIBF.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa expressed pride in the outcomes achieved through the collaboration with BIBF, emphasizing a commitment to preparing qualified leaders for roles in corporate governance and supporting the growth of Bahrain's capital market. Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh highlighted the programme's alignment with the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, focusing on empowering women in leadership and encouraging their appointment to Boards of Directors.

The programme, spanning five weeks, delivered over 40 hours of training aimed at developing executive leaders with skills necessary for board roles, thus reinforcing governance in companies. It featured interactive workshops and lectures from local and international experts, offering participants practical knowledge and skills for board qualifications. A significant component was the "Board Factual Simulation," allowing participants to engage in realistic board scenarios to test decision-making and strategic thinking.

The first edition of the "Bahrain Bourse Board Mentorship Programme" was launched in March 2024 during the annual "Ring the Bell for Gender Equality" event, hosted by Bahrain Bourse in partnership with international organizations such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), and UN Women.
