Manama: Yusuf Abdulla Alhumood, Undersecretary for Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, led Bahrain's delegation to the 2026 joint annual meetings of Arab financial institutions. The meetings were hosted by the United Arab Emirates through a video conference, with participation from representatives of Arab countries and several Arab financial and economic organizations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meetings included a series of sessions, notably the Board of Governors of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the Board of Shareholders of the Arab Investment and Export Credit Guarantee Corporation, and the Board of Governors of the Arab Monetary Fund. Additional meetings involved the Boards of Governors of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) and the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development, as well as the Supervisory Board of the Badir Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises Development.
Participants discussed a range of agenda items, including the follow-up of programs and plans of Arab financial institutions, review of annual reports and financial statements, and mechanisms to support economic and social development. Discussions also addressed means to enhance the outcomes of Arab financial institutions, enhance financial and investment cooperation among Arab countries, and review regional and international economic developments, contributing to joint Arab action and the achievement of sustainable development goals in the region.
