Manama: Jamshid Kuchkarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, met with Yousif Abdullah Al Humood, Undersecretary for Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, during Bahrain's participation in the AlUla Conference for Emerging Market Economies (EME). The conference is organized by the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Saudi Arabia.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting highlighted the growing relationship between Bahrain and Uzbekistan, focusing on expanding cooperation in financial and economic sectors. The undersecretary reiterated Bahrain's dedication to strengthening these partnerships to benefit both nations.
The two nations formalized their commitment by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Bahrain's Ministry of Finance and National Economy and Uzbekistan's Ministry of Economy and Finance. Yousif Abdullah Al Humood signed on behalf of Bahrain, while Ilkhom Umurzakov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, represented Uzbekistan.
The MoU establishes a framework for enhanced collaboration through expertise sharing, regular consultations, and joint economic initiatives. It also includes the creation of joint working groups to develop shared projects and address common interests.
