Manama: The Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). This agreement was finalized during the Bahraini-Emirati Joint Ministerial Committee meeting.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah emphasized the robust relationship between Bahrain and the UAE, particularly in civil aviation, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. He acknowledged the contributions of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, in promoting cooperative efforts to achieve shared objectives.
The MoU is considered a significant step in enhancing Gulf cooperation in air transport, fortifying bilateral ties,
and encouraging collaboration through knowledge sharing and the implementation of global best practices in civil aviation. This sector is recognized as a vital driver of sustainable economic progress.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah reiterated Bahrain’s dedication to realizing the MoU by exchanging expertise and knowledge in fields such as innovation, development, IT, training, and encouraging the participation of women in civil aviation. He also highlighted the necessity of aligning international positions and praised the UAE’s active involvement in the Bahrain International Airshow.
Additionally, the minister applauded the outcomes of the joint ministerial committee sessions, co-led by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE.
