Manama: Dr. Jaleela bint Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, met with Semir Ferraoglu, Head of Medical Authority between Turkey and GCC countries, at the Bosphrous Summit. The discussion focused on enhancing cooperation and investment in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Ferraoglu praised the progress of Bahrain's healthcare sector and emphasized the commitment to strengthening partnerships between Bahrain and Trkiye in the pharmaceuticals and medical industries. He also congratulated Bahrain on its achievement in successfully completing the treatment of a sickle cell patient using CRISPR gene-editing technology, marking it as the first documented case of its kind outside the United States.
