Manama: Bahrain and Hong Kong are exploring the possibility of enhancing collaboration in the logistics and transportation sectors, as discussed in a recent meeting between Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, and Liu Chun San, Undersecretary for Transport and Logistics from Hong Kong. According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was attended by representatives from the Hong Kong Trade Development Council's Dubai office and Oscar Chow, Honorary Consul of Bahrain to Hong Kong. The discussions focused on expanding economic and investment connections between Bahrain and Hong Kong, with an emphasis on land, air, and maritime transportation. The Bahraini minister emphasized the aim to establish Bahrain as a strategic hub for high-quality, sustainable logistics services. He highlighted the necessity of utilizing expertise and advanced technology to boost competitiveness and align with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030. The dialogue also covered oppor tunities for human capital development, infrastructure modernization, and enhancement of logistics services within the transportation sector. Liu Chun San acknowledged Bahrain's efforts to collaborate with Hong Kong, particularly in the integration of innovative technologies and smart systems to advance transportation and logistics. He expressed optimism about Bahrain's future growth and development in this area. The visit culminated in field tours and meetings with representatives from the Economic Development Board, DHL Logistics, and APM Terminals Bahrain, which manages Khalifa Bin Salman Port. The delegation examined key operational processes, investment opportunities, and initiatives that are driving the logistics sector's growth in Bahrain.
