Bahrain and Egypt Strengthen Judicial Ties Through High-Level Meetings

Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council and President of the Court of Cassation, alongside Dr. Ali bin Fadhel Al Buainain, Bahrain's Attorney General, concluded an official visit to Egypt aimed at enhancing judicial cooperation between the two nations. They met with key Egyptian figures, including Hosni Abdel Latif, President of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Court of Cassation; Adnan Fangary, Justice Minister; and Mohamed Shoukry, Attorney General.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the focus of the visit was on strengthening judicial cooperation, implementing international agreements, and exploring advancements in judicial technology. Both Bahrain and Egypt underscored their bilateral ties as a basis for mutual trust and effective collaboration. A significant outcome of the visit was the signing of a twinning declaration between the Bahraini Court of Cassation and the Egyptian Court of Cassation by Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa and Hosni Abdel Latif, aimed at fostering judicial cooperation and knowledge exchange.

Discussions during the meeting also touched upon crime prevention, capacity building, and training for prosecutors. An important milestone was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dr. Ali bin Fadhel Al Buainain and Mohamed Shoukry to facilitate legal training, expertise exchange, and professional development among legal professionals.

The Bahraini delegation's itinerary included a visit to the Criminal Research and Training Institute at the Egyptian Public Prosecution to assess its academic and training programmes. They also participated in the launch of Egypt's Public Prosecution Training Strategy, a new initiative focused on developing legal professionals through technology. The event was attended by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Egyptian Prime Minister, senior judges, regional attorney generals, and international representatives.
