Cairo: During the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, to Egypt, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt. The agreement focuses on collaboration in urban planning, marking a significant development in the bilateral relations between the two nations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the signing ceremony saw Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Ahmed Kouchouk, Egypt's Minister of Finance, representing their respective governments. The MoU underscores the commitment of both countries to bolster their partnership in urban planning and development, a move seen as a strategic endeavor with long-term benefits.
Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Khayyat, CEO of the Urban Planning and Development Authority (UPDA), remarked on the strong ties between Bahrain and Egypt, indicating that the relationship serves as an ideal model of strategic cooperation. He underlined the significance of the partnership in advancing urban development, which in turn will enhance the quality of life for citizens in both countries.
The agreement outlines the creation of a joint council dedicated to urban planning, aiming to foster collaboration in academic, scientific, research, and training activities. The initiative will facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge among professionals, aligning with the strategic objectives of both nations and accelerating progress toward sustainable development goals.
