Bahrain Aims for Historic Participation in 3rd Asian Youth Games

Manama: Bahrain's delegation, led by Ahmed Abdulghaffar, is setting its sights on a historic participation at the 3rd Asian Youth Games. Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the event is scheduled from October 20 to 31. Abdulghaffar highlighted that the Kingdom will compete in all scheduled sports and events, showcasing the support from the Bahrain Olympic Committee, headed by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Abdulghaffar noted that the delegation is actively welcoming national teams and coordinating accommodations for athletes at designated hotels. Bahrain's representation includes 204 male and female athletes across 26 sports, with the entire delegation totaling 356 members, including players, coaches, and administrators. This marks the largest contingent Bahrain has ever sent to the Asian Youth Games.

Abdulghaffar expressed optimism about achieving results that mirror Bahrain's sporting advancements. He emphasized that all national teams have completed their preparations for the Games. The Bahrain Olympic Committee has been instrumental in collaborating with national sports federations and providing comprehensive support to ensure successful participation.

The competitions will kick off on October 19 with events such as handball, volleyball, kabaddi, kurash, and pencak silat, and will continue through to October 31. Abdulghaffar concluded by expressing confidence in the athletes' readiness to deliver performances that will make Bahrain proud.
